RADIant Beauty & radical thoughts in paradise

Picture this: a mermaid who doesn’t vanish into sea foam for love, but instead rises from the waves with a fierce sense of self-authority. This is the world that Sekarputi, the artist behind Arta Derau’s signature mermaid ceramics, wants to create.

From March to May 2024, Rizibë settled in as our resident artist, diving deep into his creative process and teaming up with some local artisans to bring his ideas to life. It’s his story to share hopes at a turbulence time.

This group exhibition at RAD features four artists—Arwin Hidayat, Eka Sudarma Putra, Kuncir S.V, and Surya Subratha—who come from different cultural backgrounds but share a common thread: they’re all about honoring traditions and turning them into something new.

From 20 March to 10 May 2025, Friendly Neighbor took over the gallery walls at Ruang Arta Derau (RAD) with a dedicated Risograph Art Print Showcase by RPFF. The show is a chance for the prints—and the stories behind them—to be seen in a more intimate and thoughtful context
